A lot of the features in GWToolbox++[1] are very useful, but it can take a lot of time and effort to set them up. Hopefully this page can help with that. Remember that it's up to you which features you use, and a good player will not become reliant on 3rd party tools.
Custom Agents
These are particularly useful for speed clears, but many of them are for general PvE e.g. colours for the high level foes in pre-Searing Vanguard quests. Expand this section and copy and paste the contents into the AgentColors.ini file in your TB settings folder. If you don't already have an AgentColors.ini file, you'll need to create one. Have a look through all the agents and change/remove any that don't suit your needs.
Custom Markers
A lot of these markers are just for speed clears, but many are useful elsewhere. For example, every Light of Deldrimor secret is in this list. Expand this section and copy and paste the contents into the Markers.ini file in your TB settings folder. Have a look through them and change/remove any that don't suit your needs. If a marker isn't giving you useful information, it's just distracting noise.
Hotkeys
Setting up hotkeys is really something you have to do for yourself, depending on your keyboard layout and how you like to position your hands. All I can offer is a list of recommended hotkeys for DoASC players:
- use res scroll (Item ID: 26501) - This one is super important, and you should make sure it's a key you can quickly reach, and spam if necessary. It's usually not going to be a problem if you press it accidentally.
- drop/use Recall - Cancelling Recall quickly is extremely helpful as TK, and for tanks it's indispensable. Put it somewhere you can very quickly reach, but won't accidentally press at a bad time.
- drop/use UA - Playing monk without this is painful for you and for your dead teammates. Good news: since you are very unlikely to play with UA and Recall in the same build, there's no reason not to bind both of these to the same key.
- move to MLK glitch spot (x: 13098.000 y: -9817.000) - This can be on a key that's hard to reach, because you should always have plenty of time to move your hand in place to press it.
- reapply appropriate title - It's well worth setting this to trigger when entering an explorable area or outpost, so you never accidentally do DoA without the title on. It also helps to be able to reapply it during a run; for example, reapplying Lightbringer after you get bonded will reduce the damage you take. - Health Monitor - Seeing your target's exact health tells you if you can use "Finish Him!" and if it's low enough to take damage from EoE. If you have a heal skill, you can also check on your party members' health, and call them out if their equipment seems wrong!
- Instance Timer - Knowing the exact age of the instance is already useful for timing yourself and co-ordinating with your party, but even better are the extra timers and spirit timers (you have to turn them on in Settings, and make your timer widget big enough to display them).
- Notepad - If you're doing an unfamiliar role in any SC, write yourself some reminders. Either keep the notepad open or just open it when you need to read something.
