Smothering Tendrils are boss-like foes in Veil. Defeating the six tendrils and the Stygians that spawn when the tendrils die marks the end of Veil.
Abilities
Torment Slash
This is a unique skill that is different from the Torment Slashes from Torment Claws. It deals 200 damage twice in a line in front of the tendril.

Behavior
Generally speaking they will use Torment Slash on recharge whenever someone goes in range of them. However, sometimes they will cancel Torment Slash, or autoattack. When the tendril dies, a group of mixed Stygians spawn near the tendril's corpse. The two tendrils closest to Gloom trench do not spawn Stygian Fiends when they die, while the other four tendrils do.
Counters
- Pain Inverter is the most efficient way of killing these tendrils.
- Wastrel's Demise is also extremely powerful - use this skill right when the tendrils spawn and reapply after every slash.
- Overload + Shatter - cast Overload during the slash animation and shatter it.
- Make sure that you don't get stuck by the Stygians that spawn when the tendrils die.
