Catacombs of Kathandrax

Catacombs of Kathandrax is a dungeon that is commonly run for a Hammer of Kathandrax, as well as the Emerald Blade and the Astral Staff.
The quest for this dungeon is called Kathandrax's Crusher, given by Swithin Nye who stands near the entrance to the dungeon. Note that the quest reward for this dungeon should not be accepted or else you will lose your Hammer.
Public groups typically form at Doomlore Shrine in American Districts.
Area Description
Level 1
- Main team: Kill the Infernal Siege Worm (1320 hp) and pick the key up.
- Gater: Run to the Dungeon Lock. Once the team has picked the key up, open the lock and head to the second floor.
Level 2
- Main team: Kills the Regent of Flame (880 hp) and pick the key up.
- Gater: Run to the Dungeon Lock. Once the team has picked the key up, open the lock and head to the third and last floor.
Level 3
- Kill the Flame Djinn, pick the key up, and open the Dungeon Lock.
- Kill Ilsundur, Lord of Fire.

- This build is meant to be used with the Anniversary Shortbow "Whisper".
- Critical Strikes can be set to 9, and 9 other points can go into the shield requirement attribute.
Equipment & Usage
Tank
- Equipment: Assassin Equipment.
- Usage: Gate on the first two levels, and tank the first room while the "A/N" Barbs gets to pull the boss.
- Tips: Use enchantment stacking to be tankier (see how Shadow Form works). Use a Zealous Scythe while tanking to gain energy and recast.
Barbs
- Equipment: Assassin Equipment.
- Usage: Run to bosses using

Skill level
- Spearway and its Whispherway variant are the slowest but safest way to complete the Catacombs of Kathandrax. This team is heavily recommended for beginners to learn the dungeon layout, roles and foes.

- Whispherway is a bit faster than Spearway. This team can be used to transit from Spearway to Daggerway, but is very niche. Compared to the Spearway the Whisperway:

Equipment & Usage
Equipment
- Equipment: Assassin Equipment.
- The Barbs Gater needs pcons and a rune to hit 9 Dagger Mastery, the requirement of their Daggers.
Usage
- On level 3, the entire team runs into the corner beside the Gate Lock near where the Flame Djinn spawns and kills it. Then, the team makes their way towards the end boss and kills him to complete the dungeon.
Tips
- On Level 3, keep the Flame Djinn knocked down using
and dagger attacks supported by
.
- Do not use
on Ilsundur before he spawns lava boulders — you’ll trigger them, and they deal instant fatal damage.
- When Ilsundur drops firebombs, bait them away from the group. The fastest method: run outward, then use
or
to reposition. Note: using a shadow step causes you to drop held items.
- If enough players reach the Infernal Siege Worm, the Regent of Flame, or Ilsundur, you can stop maintaining
— its damage cap slows the run, and the bosses should be knocked down and unable to retaliate. Under
, consider auto-attacks instead of spamming
, since auto-attacks have a chance to double strike.

Level 3 Specifics
- Move as a tight group with the leader into the gate corner to break aggro.
- Kill the Flame Djinn with

- The gater retrieves the Boss Key while the leader opens the Boss Lock, then proceed to Ilsundur.
- The gater should arrive first (due to high Shadow Steps) and trigger Ilsundur, causing fire boulders to spawn.
- While running through the boss room, the buffer casts

on Ilsundur to heal party members and bolster the
