GWToolbox++ (commonly known as just toolbox or TB) is an unofficial add-on for Guild Wars, containing a variety of useful tools and enhancements to improve gameplay. Some of these features are not really applicable to SCs; this article will focus on those that are. More information about the functions of toolbox is available on the website.

Pinging Builds

The Builds window allows you to create and edit teambuilds, which can then be sent directly to party chat. Clicking on the name of one of your teambuilds will send the name, followed by each build in a loadable template.

This is typically used as a quick way to communicate tactics to the team before a run starts. It is possible to include messages other than just builds, so any additional instructions can be included.

Dialogs

The Dialogs window allows you to send dialogs directly to NPCs without actually having to talk to them, and in some cases without having completed all the pre-requisites to make that dialog available.

Mostly this is used in SCs either to accept quests from NPCs that are currently in combat, or to teleport to Reapers in The Underworld that haven't been popped yet. These popular dialogs are all included as default buttons on the Dialogs window.

Information

Various toolbox features provides useful information, including:

  • Distance monitor shows exactly how far the target is from the player.
  • Health monitor shows exactly how much health the target has.
  • Damage monitor shows how much damage each party member has dealt. There are chat commands to send this information to team chat.
  • Bond monitor displays enchantments currently being maintained on allies, and allows them to be activated or dismissed with a single click.
  • Instance timer shows the exact age of the current instance.

The toolbox minimap shows a larger area (full party range) than the default Guild Wars compass, as well as other helpful information:

  • pathing terrain
  • QZ and EoE range
  • custom markers
  • bosses and boss-like foes appear larger
  • foes with less than 90% health appear in a different colour, so you can see what still needs off damage
  • Recall and Shadow of Haste markers
  • It is also possible to target agents by Ctrl+clicking on the minimap

Targeting Untargetable Agents

Some agents cannot normally be targeted, even though it is possible to use skills on them. There are several ways to target these with toolbox:

  • creating a hotkey to target a specific agent, once you know that agent's ID
  • holding Ctrl and clicking on the TB minimap
  • typing /target closest to select the nearest agent

Amongst other things, these are commonly used to HoS or Viper's over a wall where no other target is available.

Hotkeys

Hotkeys can be created to perform a large selection of Toolbox functions at the press of a key. Most of these functions can be activated through other means e.g. chat commands, but hotkeys are obviously much faster and more convenient once they are set up. Some functions are exclusive to hotkeys e.g. casting/dismissing Recall or UA, re-applying the Lightbringer title, using an item, and moving to specified co-ordinates.

Materials Buyer

The Materials window allows you to automatically buy and sell rare and common materials from the traders. It is also possible to check the price for the exact amount needed to craft consets, powerstones, and res scrolls, and to buy as many of these as you want.

Auto Pcons

The Pcons window simply maintains your selection of consumables.
