My conclusion is that AoE skills have their own areas and this adjacent/nearby/area is an extremely vague guideline. Skills targeting allies appear to have a TINY extra bit more range than those targeting enemies, but in PvP it's significantly less. Wanding range appears to be the exact same as casting on enemies, though.

: ok feel free to adjust hos, I was going out of memory, I definitely remember 322 was relevant, and the max was something like 360. --[[User:HasKha|HasKha]] ([[User talk:HasKha|talk]]) 22:55, 15 September 2016 (CEST)

testing

I tested some of these, and the results were:

  • 144 Melee auto-attack
  • 168 Adjacent (tested with Shockwave)
  • 167 Adjacent (tested with Burning Speed)
  • 252 Nearby (tested with Shockwave)
  • 240 Nearby (tested with Frozen Burst)
  • 323 Area (tested with Shockwave)
  • 324 Area (tested with Unholy Feast)
  • HoS/Viper's range seems kinda complicated, but it's definitely not as long as you said... when we originally tested we found it was something like 298-322, with a possible extension for going through some walls, but I actually think it doesn't work for all walls... just the ones you have to walk quite far around?
  • 1248 Casting range (tested with Lightning Hammer, Shock Arrow, Blinding Surge, Shell Shock, Lightning Strike, Lightning Orb, Chain Lightning, Lightning Javelin, and Arc Lightning)
  • 1248 BUT ACTUALLY SLIGHTLY MORE THAN THE OTHER 1248 Casting range (tested with Protective Bond, Life Bond, Balthazar's Spirit, Infuse Health, Spirit Bond, Windborne Speed, and Ebon Escape)
  • also the ally casting range is less in PvP, but the enemy one is the same... WTF is this bullshit?

My conclusion is that AoE skills have their own areas and this adjacent/nearby/area is an extremely vague guideline. Skills targeting allies appear to have a TINY extra bit more range than those targeting enemies, but in PvP it's significantly less. Wanding range appears to be the exact same as casting on enemies, though. The Mistyreous Mystery of Misty (talk) 13:30, 15 September 2016 (CEST)
